Abergeldie designs and constructs bridges ranging in size from cycleways and pedestrian overpasses through to multilane highways and rail corridor bridge crossings.

Abergeldie also conducts condition assessment and remediation of hydrostatic concrete, pipelines, tanks and reservoirs; concrete and brick work; and metal structures and cladding.

About the role:

We are looking for a technically minded individual, with a relevant engineering degree combined with experience in Civil Construction on medium to large scale multidisciplinary projects, ideally in Australia.

Key duties of the role are:

  • Ensure all project information is filed and stored in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Provide the Project Manager with relevant documentation received from either the client or authorities in a timely manner.
  • Review and check all new drawings, instructions and documentation received from either the client or authorities.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and accurate daily diary.
  • Monitor and track that statutory requirements (e.g. Local Council, EPA etc.) are adhered to on site at all times.
  • Track and monitor that materials delivered to site are checked and verified for correct quantity, quality and type ordered.
  • Proactive in project cost control.
  • Accurately document project activity durations and progress to enable effective budget tracing and reliable progress reports to claims and resource management.
  • Monitor, track and assess subcontractor, supplier and plant dockets and forward to Head Office on a regular basis.

What you need

  • Degree qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent degree.
  • Minimum 5 years previous construction engineering experience.
  • Experience working in roads, bridges, marine type projects, preferably with RMS as a client.
