About the role
Based in Medlow Bath (Blue Mountains)
You will be responsible for developing and implementing environmental strategies on site that ensure safe and efficient ways to construct projects.
More broadly this role will see you engage with the construction team and its partners whilst building assets that support the community.
Your responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Abergeldie's environmental management system including develop and maintain Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), Environmental Risk Assessments (ERA) and Project Sustainability Management Plan (PSIP).
- Obtain relevant approvals for permits, permissions and approvals for access of works that affect the environment.
- Ensure environmental legal compliance.
- Ensure project specifications and environmental and sustainability targets are met. Inform the Project Manager where specifications and/or targets are not being met.
- Conduct and facilitate environmental risk assessments, inspections and audits.
- Incident investigations.
- Subcontractor management.
- Management of environmental and sustainability reporting including project monthly reporting.
What you need
- Expert knowledge in environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience working as an Environmental Manager in the Civil Construction Industry.
- Demonstrated experience working as an Environmental Manager on RMS projects will be highly regarded.
- Recent graduates with relevant tertiary qualifications, with no demonstrated experience will also be considered
