About the opportunity
We’re looking for Environmental Advisors to join our project teams working across key infrastructure upgrades in Dapto, Pitt Town, and Blacktown. These roles will see you embedded on-site, supporting the delivery of complex civil works including major road upgrades, new bridges, intersection improvements and flood resilience infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in ensuring these projects meet environmental compliance and sustainability targets while helping to deliver long-term benefits to growing communities.
Day to day, you will:
- Provide operational environmental and sustainability guidance across both projects, fostering a culture of best practice and compliance
- Develop, review, and support construction environmental management plans, environmental risk assessments, and sustainability management plans
- Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and audits, investigating any incidents to ensure prompt resolution
- Identify and manage environmental and sustainability risks while ensuring compliance with all obligations
- Offer technical environmental and sustainability input to support the tender process
- Educate and build our project teams' knowledge of environmental and sustainability requirements
- Liaise with clients, government bodies, and regulatory authorities on all environmental and sustainability matters
- Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators for sustainability and environmental objectives throughout the project lifecycle
What you’ll bring to the team
- 5+ years of experience as an Environmental Advisor, within Civil Construction
- Qualifications in Environmental Science or a related discipline, with in-depth knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Proven expertise in applying and managing environmental standards, particularly ISO 14001, across complex, high-profile projects
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams, clients and regulatory bodies
- A strategic mindset to foresee risks, implement proactive solutions and ensure top-tier environmental compliance and sustainability.
- Proven ability to integrate environmental objectives into project goals, fostering a culture of environmental excellence.
