Abergeldie is an Australian-owned civil contractor with 30 years’ experience delivering the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.

We’re known for our expertise in water infrastructure and rehabilitation, and in Victoria we’re delivering major programs with Yarra Valley Water, South East Water (ABK JV), and Melbourne Water (SFP JV), as well as ongoing work with other clients including Barwon Water. These contracts form part of a secured pipeline of work extending well beyond 2035.

About the opportunity

This newly created role offers the opportunity to drive the next stage of growth for our Victorian Water business. With a strong foundation and a clear vision to grow into a $200M/year operation, we’re looking for a senior leader to deliver operational and commercial success on current contracts, and secure targeted new opportunities that deliver profitable, sustainable growth.

You’ll be responsible for all aspects of the performance of the Victorian Water business, with a focus on growth, successful project delivery, developing team capability, and fostering a strong, connected team culture. You’ll nurture key client and supplier relationships and seek opportunities to bring an innovative and differentiated value offering to our clients. In addition, you’ll represent Abergeldie as an executive member on joint venture boards and program governance groups.

What you’ll bring to the team

You’re an established senior leader with proven experience operating at General Manager or executive level in the water sector. You bring a strong track record of winning work, delivering complex infrastructure projects, and leading high-performing teams. You are well connected across the Victorian market, with trusted relationships and a deep understanding of how to navigate client priorities, commercial drivers, and long-term partnerships.
