About the Opportunity
We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Payroll Officer to join our team in either Sydney (Regents Park) or Brisbane (Northgate).
Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager you will collaborate closely with internal People and Culture, IR and Finance teams to ensure delivery of timely, accurate and compliant payroll services across multiple states.
This dynamic role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys engaging with employees and managers across the country.
Responsibilities include
- Liaise with third-party providers to ensure timely and accurate end-to-end payroll processing on a fortnightly / weekly basis.
- Maintain employee records, including new starters, terminations, and variations.
- Handle payroll queries promptly and professionally.
- Completing all required manual time entry and absence data entry adjustments for fortnightly and weekly payroll cycles.
- Handle any payroll exceptions during the payroll process.
- Supporting Supervisors and Managers in the timely completion of timesheets.
- Assistance with generating internal and statutory payroll reports.
- Supporting long service leave administration, including registrations and payments.
- Assisting in year-end reconciliations for payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG and LSL.
- Participating in internal and external audits and advising on audit requirements.
What you’ll bring to the team
- 3+ years of payroll experience within a medium to large organisation within the Construction or Manufacturing Industry.
- Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of Employment and Enterprise Agreements conditions and applicable Modern Awards.
- Proven experience in end-to-end, high-volume payroll with multiple Enterprise Agreements and Awards.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in payroll systems (ADP and IFS experience highly regarded).
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel proficiency.
