Abergeldie is a locally owned contractor with 30 years’ industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors. Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.
About the opportunity
We are looking for a talented and experienced Procurement Lead to join our team to drive our procurement process during the pre-contract phase of our projects, ensuring that they are strategically positioned for success from the outset. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, to develop procurement plans, manage tender packages, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors. Day to day you will;
- Prepare and issue RFT/RFQ packages in accordance with project, corporate, and client requirements.
- Evaluate and lead negotiations on procurement packages with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that technical and commercial requirements align with project, client, and Abergeldie standards and requirements.
- Provide advice, training and mentoring on best-practice procurement processes.
- Lead and manage the handover from the estimating team to project teams, ensuring a smooth and effective transition.
- Providing mentorship to graduates and undergraduates.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring a robust vendor base that meets current and upcoming project requirements.
What you’ll bring to the team
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, quantity surveying, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated success in leading procurement processes for major infrastructure projects.
- Strong commercial, contractual, and financial acumen.
- Excellent relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Strong understanding of the supply chain and the ability bring an innovative and differentiated value offering to our clients.
