About us
Abergeldie is a locally owned contractor with 30 years’ industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors. Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.
About our Water team
We design and deliver water and wastewater asset reliability and renewals, including pumping stations and treatment plants, bulk water asset upgrades and capital infrastructure projects. Our team is extensively experienced across a variety of disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, design and process.
About the project
We have been selected by Sydney Water to deliver the Castle Hill Water Recycling Plant Compliance Project. The upgrade project is part of a larger Sydney Water project to link three treatment plants in Sydney’s North-West, creating a new North West Treatment Hub which will provide a more efficient and integrated wastewater system to cater for growth in the area and keep our waterways clean.
About the opportunity
Based in Castle Hill, this role is ideal for an experienced Construction Worker looking to take the next step into a hands-on Leading Hand position. In this role, you will report to the site supervisors and assist in coordinating daily site tasks. You’ll work closely with the crew, ensuring that projects run smoothly, while still being involved in practical, hands-on work. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the site supervisors in coordinating tasks for the team.
- Ensuring the upkeep of the site, including maintaining roadways, sediment control, and general site maintenance.
- Assisting with deliveries and unloading materials using the telehandler, as well as moving materials around the site.
- Promoting and maintaining safety
What you’ll bring to the team
- Extensive experience in a similar role
- Telehandler ticket with relevant experience (essential)
- Dogman qualification (highly advantageous)
- Current driver's licence (essential)
- WHS General Induction Card (White Card)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening prior to placement
- Full working rights in Australia (Essential)
