About us
Abergeldie is a locally owned contractor with 30 years’ industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors. Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.
About the Project
Abergeldie has been selected by Sydney Water to deliver the Castle Hill Water Recycling Plant Compliance Project. This upgrade is part of a broader Sydney Water initiative to connect three treatment plants in Sydney’s North-West, forming the North West Treatment Hub. The project will create a more efficient and integrated wastewater system to support regional growth and maintain clean waterways. The scope includes new inlet works, an odour control facility, upgrades to primary and secondary sedimentation processes (with an anoxic zone), tertiary filters, new and upgraded chemical facilities, an enhanced disinfection system, and HV and LV electrical works.
About the opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team and contribute to the successful delivery of this project. Based on site in Castle Hill, you will work closely with our Project Manager, playing an integral role in managing project and team performance, and driving successful project outcomes. - Work with the Project Manager to lead and manage project delivery, including planning, programming, and providing technical advice and support to the project team.
- Oversee construction programming, cost forecasting, and reporting to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Manage subcontractor selection, coordination, and performance to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and delivery.
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance and control processes.
What you’ll bring to the team
- Demonstrated experience delivering similar infrastructure projects, with strong expertise in water infrastructure, including mechanical equipment installations, structural steel, and pipeline installations.
- Skilled in developing and managing construction programs to meet project objectives.
- A commitment to maintaining rigorous safety standards, fostering a strong safety culture, and ensuring compliance across all activities.
