About us
Abergeldie is a locally owned contractor with 30 years’ industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors. Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.
About our Utilities team
We design and deliver water and wastewater asset reliability and renewals, including pumping stations and treatment plants, bulk water asset upgrades and capital infrastructure projects. Our team is extensively experienced across a variety of disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, design and process.
About the opportunity
Abergeldie is working with Sydney Water to deliver the Castle Hill Water Resource Recovery Facility Compliance Project. This upgrade is part of a larger initiative to connect three treatment plants in Sydney’s North-West, forming the new North West Treatment Hub. The hub will create a more efficient, integrated wastewater system to support growth in the area and help keep local waterways clean.

- Driving the commissioning process from planning through to practical completion, collaborating with clients, design teams, and vendors.
- Leading commissioning workshops with clients and operational stakeholders.
- Providing technical expertise across project lifecycles, from concept to completion.
- Overseeing the execution of commissioning activities, ensuring detailed documentation and quality assurance.
- Managing testing and commissioning to ensure compliance, efficiency, and smooth project handover.
What you’ll bring to the team
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience commissioning multi-disciplinary water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Strong capability in developing and executing commissioning plans, including Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Inspection & Test Checklists (ITCs) for treatment processes (biological, chemical, mechanical, and electrical).
- Hands-on experience managing on-site commissioning activities—coordinating with subcontractors, OEMs, and project teams to ensure smooth delivery.
- Skilled in process troubleshooting and optimisation during commissioning to meet performance and compliance benchmarks.
- Solid understanding of safety, quality, and regulatory frameworks specific to water and wastewater treatment commissioning.
