ABK is a strategic joint venture between Abergeldie, BMD, and KBR who are one of two delivery partners delivering major infrastructure upgrades over the next 10 years for South East Water’s under their Integrated Planning and Delivery model. 

About the opportunity

We’re looking for a Bid Manager to join our Pre-Contracts Team, responsible for managing the end-to-end bid process from qualification through to contract award. This includes overseeing the bid strategy, coordinating input from technical, estimating and delivery teams, and ensuring the overall solution, pricing and risk profile are competitive and aligned with client expectations.   Day to day you will;

• Coordinate closely with a team of estimators, engineers, and specialist subconsultants to prepare accurate, competitive, and compelling tender submissions.
• Engage directly with the client throughout the planning, tender, and post-tender phases, managing the risk evaluation process and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Implement bid governance processes, lead bid teams to develop cost-effective and high-quality submissions, manage design consultant inputs, and work with the ABK Delivery and SEW Planning teams to maintain a consistent pipeline of tenders.
• Take ownership of bid budgets, manage all components of the submission including delivery methodology and project approach, and drive continuous improvement through post-bid reviews and feedback.

What you’ll bring to the team

• A strong background in water infrastructure projects, ideally with hands-on construction experience.
• A natural ability to solve problems and think creatively in high-pressure environments.
• A collaborative approach and a passion for developing practical, innovative solutions to complex engineering and construction challenges.
• The ability to balance technical detail with strategic thinking to deliver compelling and competitive bids.
• Experience leading cross-functional bid teams and managing consultant and subcontractor inputs.
• Familiarity with collaborative contracting models such as RAMP and ECI – highly regarded but not essential
