About the opportunity 

We’re looking for an experienced Estimator to join our Pre-Contracts team in Melbourne. This role will primarily focus on preparing bids for our Pipeline Renewals team, who deliver complex rehabilitation and replacement projects across water, sewer and stormwater networks. 

Projects involve a mix of conventional and trenchless construction methods, including lift and relay, pipe bursting, directional drilling, asbestos water main removal, CIPP and fold-and-form linings, junction sealing, and structural patching. You’ll be working on technically diverse scopes ranging from civil repairs and vent shaft rehabilitation to full pipeline replacement.

In Victoria, we’re delivering major programs with Yarra Valley Water, South East Water (ABK Joint Venture), and Melbourne Water (SFP Joint Venture), as well as ongoing work with other clients including Barwon Water. These contracts are part of a secured pipeline of work that extends well beyond 2035.

In this role you’ll be responsible for developing accurate, first-principles pricing with a strong focus on constructability, risk and value. This includes reviewing project documentation, engaging subcontractors and suppliers, and identifying innovative, value-added engineering solutions that align with client requirements. You’ll contribute throughout the entire tender lifecycle, from initial review through to submission, post-tender feedback, and handover to delivery teams.

The role can be based at our Tullamarine, West Melbourne or Southeast (Dingley/Keysborough) office, with flexible work arrangements available.

What you’ll bring to the team

• Experience estimating water renewals and sewer rehabilitation projects, ideally with a background in civil construction or onsite delivery
• Strong skills in first-principles estimating and use of estimating software (Genesis preferred)
• Ability to analyse subcontractor quotes, review risks and opportunities, and support tender reviews
• A practical mindset, with attention to quality, cost and constructability
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction management, or a related field
